Ennislusc were well represented at Elland Road for the first home game of The Championship with Paul ( Nuggy) Nihill, Bryan Woods, Dom O Rourke, Richie Lynch, Marty Brennan, James and Kevin Barry and John Galvin all in attendance and seeing a hard earned if fortunate victory. It was welcome relief for new Leeds manager Dave Hockaday after Billy Sharp's winner on 88 minutes following Boro keeper Mejias Osorio fumbling a Michael Tonge shot from outside the box.
Sharp was making his debut for United and had missed a promising chance minutes earlier when he headed wide from eight yards. Just before half time Boro thought they had scored through winger Albert Adomah's bicycle kick only to have the effort disallowed.
