Leeds having not scored at the American Express Stadium in over twelve and a half hours of football and The Seagulls haven beaten Aston Villa 4-0 in their opening game of the season this certainly was going to be a tricky game for The Whites. However it was Leeds who started brilliantly and should have had the game in the bag at half time. Daniel Farke's side appeared on course for their first victory at Brighton in more than 17 years when Jayden Bogle opened the scoring on 15 minutes. Bogle finished into an empty net after a pass across the face of goal from Man Of The Match Ao Tanaka. The Bees came to Elland Road full of confidence after a great pre season run of friendly games and at half-time pretty much every Leeds fan watching would have been thinking it was a matter of not whether Brentford would win but how many goals they would win by. Tonight at a sold out Croke Park fierce rivals Manchester United and Leeds United will face each other in a preseason friendly. The last soccer match at Croke Park was the first leg of an infamous World Cup play-off tie between Ireland and France on November 14th 2009. Ennislusc will be well represented in the capital in what will be a wonderful experience for all those lucky enough to get their hands on gold dust tickets. For Leeds fans it will be a chance hopefully to see new goalkeeper James Trafford make his Leeds debut following his club record £40M transfer from Manchester City.


Predicted Leeds line up: Trafford; Bogle, Rodon, Bijol, Muharemovic, Justin; Ampadu, Longstaff; Wilson, Aaronson, Calvert-Lewin.

At the start of the season the three sides that came up from The Championship were favourites to go down but against all odds Sunderland finished 7th, qualifying for Europe and Leeds finished a very creditable 14th. Unfortunately The Clarets (Burnley) finished 19th and drop back down to The Championship. All Leeds fans would have settled for 17th place, stay in The Premiership but a fantastic second half to the season saw us finishing with a superb 47 points which meant Leeds earned £144.5m from their first season back in the top flight. At Christmas some fans were calling for Farke to be sacked but his change in tactics after losing unluckily to Man City saw a huger change in fortune for the club.

With Leeds safe this game was a must win one for The Hammers and hope Everton did them a favour and beat Spurs to keep them in The Premiership. Unfortunately West Ham did their bit against a Leeds side that were already looking to their summer break while Spurs beat The Toffees and thus ended The Hammers 14 years stay in The Premiership. West Ham were always up against it going into this match as they sat two points behind Spurs who also had a vastly inferior goal difference. This is hard to credit as just three years ago West Ham won their first major silverware in 43 years as David Moyes led them to the Europa Conference League title. This was a case where it was a smash and grab win for Leeds. The Seagulls had dominated the game with 19 efforts on goal but apart from an outstanding save from Darlow he was rarely troubled. All the action in the first half came with two minutes to the half time whistle. Pascal Gross forced Leeds goalkeeper Karl Darlow into a full-stretch save before Van Hecke failed to get his header on target from six yards in the follow-up.

This was a massive game for Spurs in their fight to stay in The Premiership and for Leeds it was an opportunity to keep their excellent run going. With West Hams controversial loss at home to Arsenal on Sunday this was a huge game for Spurs. It was a very cagey first half with neither side troubling the opposing goalkeepers. However five minutes into the second half Spurs got the goal the craved. Mathys Tel put the hosts ahead with a spectacular finish and Spurs looked on course to open up a four-point gap over The Hammers who are in the relegation places. Richarlison then blazed a glorious chance over the top moments before Leeds were awarded a penalty.

Last May Leeds pipped Burnley to the Championship title on goal difference after both sides amassed 100 points and on this occasion The Clarets came to Elland Road eight days after their relegation to the Championship was confirmed while the club announced head coach Scott Parker had left his position by mutual consent. This was a game Leeds targeted for three points to all but guarantee Premiership safety and from the off the pedal was to the metal as they completely dominated the first half. Leeds shook off their FA Cup blues and took the lead on eight minutes much to the relief of the Elland Road faithful. Leeds hopes of reaching a first FA Cup final since they lost to Sunderland in 1973 were dashed as they were left to regret missed chances that might have turned a tight game in their favour. Ennislusc were well represented at Wembley as Leeds played in the semi final for the first time in 39 years ( 1986/87 ) with Paul and David Nihill, Brian Woods, Marty Brennan Stevie Jones, Mike Lewis, Bryan Williams, Eoin Doohan, Mike E. Gibson, Jason Finn, Jack Quilligan and Colm Ryan in attendance. This game had a dramatic and nail biting end after a drab first half where Leeds played below par but certainly were happy to go in level at the half time whistle. It's been a big run of high pressure games for Leeds so it's understandable that not in every game they'll be firing on all cylinders. The Cherries broke the deadlock on the hour mark when Senesi threaded a through ball to Kroupi who's shot was deflect in over Leeds keeper Karl Darlow for his 11th goal of the season. Leeds took a massive step towards safety with a excellent victory over a Wolves side who despite their lowly position put it up to the home side and fans could only rest when Calvert Lewin converted a 95th minute penalty. Leeds defender James Justin opened the scoring on 18 minutes with a superb overhead kick after Wolves failed to clear a corner to ease the tension in the home crowd. Just 85 seconds later Elland Road erupted as Noah Okafor finished smartly for his 7th goal of the season at the back post from Brendan Aaronson's fine low cross. After going 2-0 up the home side seemed to take their foot off the pedal thinking the game was done and dusted but that was far from the case.

What a night for Leeds fans who witnessed their team win at Old Trafford for the first time since 1981 but more importantly secure a superb three points in their quest for Premiership survival. This on top of securing an FA Cup trip to Wembley after defeating West Ham at the weekend has been a memorable week for all Leeds fans around the globe. Noah Okafor gave Leeds a dream start on five minutes with a brilliant finish to quieten the home fans. On 29 minutes Okafor hit the net again when his shot from the edge of the area got a slight defection of Leny Yoro and nestled in the net. Ennislusc members traveled over in the hope of seeing a Leeds win and breathing space in our quest to stay in The Premiership but in a game to forget they had to settle for a point. The club were represented at the game by Mike Jones, Brian Woods, Marty Brennan, Dom O Rourke, Richie Lynch, David O Grady, Paul Harte, Tadgh Murphy, Declan Meaney and Sean Naughton. This game can only be described as an atrocious advertisement for Premiership football as The Bees came to defend stoutly and unfortunately Leeds never troubled Irish International goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher except for an effort from a Lukas Nmecha strike.

This was an extremely dour first half with neither side creating much but it ignited into life in the 45th minute and the following minutes of injury time. Following a Leeds corner Palace captain Will Hughes was penalised for a hand ball and referee Thomas Bramall pointed to the spot. Up stepped Calvert-Lewin but he dragged his spot-kick wide of the left post but unfortunately worse was to follow for Farke's men. In the fifth minute of injury time left back Gabriel Gudmundsson was given a second booking for a foul on Ismaila Sarr in the centre circle and got his marching orders.

This was a game that Daniel Farke had targeted but for the second successive home game Leeds failed to hit the onion sack. The Black Cats despite having only thirty per cent possession and one shot on target all evening, that being a dubious penalty came away with all three points. Let there be no doubt this was a damaging defeat in Leeds bid to remain in the Premiership. In a game that lacked any quality or intensity from the home side their best efforts in the first half came from Anton Stach's free-kick which was pushed behind by keeper Melker Ellborg who was making his debut in goal. The Swedish keeper also saved excellently from Jaka Bijol's close-range header in 12 minutes of added time.

Leeds will be wondering how they did not score after making a excellent start and giving City real cause for concern as they try to close the gap at the top on Arsenal. However not converting chances has been a huge issue for Daniel Farke's side and that you can't do against the top teams or you will be punished . This was another huge game for Leeds going to Villa Park with the home side sitting 3rd in The Premiership but they put in a superb performance and can consider themselves unlucky not to come away with all three points. As in the Chelsea game we lived on scraps and had only 33 per cent possession but created four shots on target just like Unai Emery's Villa. Leeds hit the front on 31 minutes and what a goal it was from Anton Stach. The visitors were awarded a free 30 yards out to the left of the penalty area and he shaped up as if he would play the ball to the far post but caught Emiliano Martinez out of position and fired the ball into the top corner. Despite having only 34 per cent possession Leeds hung in their and were rewarded with two goals in six minutes to earn a superb point a Stamford Bridge. The Blues under new manager Liam Rosenior had won all four of their Premiership games under his watch and the early signs were he was going to extend that to five given their dominance. However this Leeds team don't lie down and while one might say the rode their luck they deserved a point for their perseverance.
