A goal on the stroke of ninety minutes for Rovers denied Leeds a 10th successive home league win in a game they have only themselves to blame for not seeing out. This was always going to be a stick game for Leeds who once again dominated possession but were up against a real dogged Rams defence. In the first of two away Christmas games Leeds knew that if they won they would close the gap on Sheffield United who slipped up earlier in the day so the motivation was certainly there for a win.
