This was a case where it was a smash and grab win for Leeds. The Seagulls had dominated the game with 19 efforts on goal but apart from an outstanding save from Darlow he was rarely troubled. All the action in the first half came with two minutes to the half time whistle. This was a massive game for Spurs in their fight to stay in The Premiership and for Leeds it was an opportunity to keep their excellent run going. With West Hams controversial loss at home to Arsenal on Sunday this was a huge game for Spurs. It was a very cagey first half with neither side troubling the opposing goalkeepers. However five minutes into the second half Spurs got the goal the craved. Mathys Tel put the hosts ahead with a spectacular finish and Spurs looked on course to open up a four-point gap over The Hammers who are in the relegation places. This game had a dramatic and nail biting end after a drab first half where Leeds played below par but certainly were happy to go in level at the half time whistle.
