Leeds were frustrated by ten man Preston after Ben Pearson was dismissed for his second yellow card on 60 minutes. With a massive home crowd of 32,880 in attendance for the first home game of the season it was a terribly disappointing result and one that could have been a lot worse as Preston hit the woodwork on 90 minutes with keeper Felix Wiedwald getting a touch to Harrop's shoot and tipping it n to the crossbar.
Leeds striker Chris Wood had a number of chances including a one on one with Preston keeper Maxwell that he failed to convert. It was the first time Leeds had failed to score since 17 April, having scored seven goals in their opening two games this season.
