Liverpool 4 Leeds United 3

What an opening game for Leeds on their return to The Premiership after 16 years in The Championship. Taking on the Premier League Champions, the World Club Champions and if that was not tough enough having to go to Anfield for the fixture. They certainly don't come tougher than that but Bielsa's team certainly relished the challenge and put in a superb performance while unfortunately coming away empty handed but garnisheeing many admirers with their high energy play.

Then to conceded a penalty after four minutes to The Champions when new signing Robin Koch handled the ball which Mohamed Salah dispatching with aplomb certainly would have upset most teams but not Leeds. They took the game to The Pool and on 12 minutes Jack Harrison drilled a low right-foot shot past Alisson after a superb ball over the top from Kalvin Phillips. However eight minutes… Read more

Our new President of Ennislusc is the legendary Kilrush Shamrock's and Clare senior footballer Seamus O Doherty. Doc as he's known to one and all was a brilliant centre back in the all conquering Kilrush Shamrock's senior football team who won five county senior titles in a row from 1975-79. While he's a Sham at heart his other great sporting love is Leeds United and he's been a passionate supporter of The Whites since 1969. His son Donal is also a member of Ennislusc and hopefully in the not too distant future we can meet up to welcome our new President to office.

All Seamus's friends at Ennislusc salute him on his new appointment and starting out his term in The Premiership something he'll heartily embrace. Marching On Together

Today saw our outgoing President of Ennislusc and first lady President Noelette Barry step down from her position having done an incredible job in her year in office. Some people might see the position as a figure head and a nice accolade but to Noelette it was a great honour and she was determined to make her mark. From the outset she was instrumental in setting up the Leeds Wags Whats App group (since changed to Leeds Ladies )and was determined to get the ladies more involved in all things Leeds.

Noelette wanted the Ennislusc group to stand out from other Supporters Clubs when going to Elland Road for games or simply down to Moroney's for matches. With this in mind she set about sourcing new top class gear for club members which would include our club crest and initials. She enlisted the help of our excellent Club Secretary Mike… Read more

After 16 years out of The Premiership Leeds have been very active in the transfer market and they are not afraid to spend money either as they have broken their transfer record with Spanish International forward Rodrigo Moreno Machado. Here is the up to date last of our transfer ins:

Robin Koch - Freiburg, undisclosed

Jack Harrison - Man City, loan

Joe Gelhardt - Wigan, undisclosed.

Illan Meslier - Lorient, undisclosed

Helder Costa - Wolves, £16m

Charlie Allen - Linfield, undisclosed

Cody Drameh - Fulham, undisclosed

Sam Greenwood - Arsenal, undisclosed

This is a very impressive statement by the club with some major signings and also some top class young players for the future. We are constantly being told that Victor Orta and co are not finished yet so that's great news. This is certainly a new departure for us long suffering Leeds fans where we were used to picking up free transfers or loan… Read more

When the fixtures were about to be released yesterday morning it was a fantastic day for all Leeds supporters as after years in the wilderness we were now dreaming of playing the Arsenal's, Man City's and Chelsea's of this world. After being relegated in the 2003/04 season little did we think that we would be 16 years in the Championship and even League 1. However us Leeds fans never lost the passion despite all the heartache of near promotion runs and slagging from fans of other clubs that our day would finally come.

So when we found out that our first fixture of the new season was an away fixture to the champions Liverpool at Anfield it certainly had our heart racing. Ennislusc members are now looking at potential travel fixtures to Elland Roads and of course the big issue now unlike other years in the Championship will be the… Read more

Once again our excellent Secretary Mike Jones has gone out and sourced some top class hats for our return to The Premiership. There are three different design types, each with the Leeds Centenary crest on the front and very colourful in the club colours. If nothing else Ennislusc will be the best togged out supporters club heading to Elland Road this season following on from our recent acquisition of new jackets and tops. The club are very thankfully for Mike's patience with this onerous job of dealing with the supplier, getting the right sizes for each individual member on top of collecting the monies which as one can appreciate takes up a lot of ones time.

We are back in The Premiership and Ennislusc is a Premiership Supporters Club thanks to our wonderful and passionate members. Marching On Together

Leeds United 0 Charlton Athletic 0

Ex Leeds United star Lee Bowyer brings his Charlton side to Elland Road needing a result to stay in The Championship but with The Whites receiving the Championship trophy following the game he need not expect any favours from Bielsa and co. The home side got off to the perfect start on thirteen minutes when on loan Brighton defender Ben White hit a stunning volley from 18 yards to score his first goal for the club. Unfortunately with no buy out clause in the contract for Leeds this has only added value to Ben's already rising stock.

Things got better for Leeds on 28 minutes when Northern Ireland international Stuart Dallas scored a second following a superb pass from Pablo Hernandez. From here on Lee Bowyer's Charlton looked resigned to the fact that there was no way back for them and relegation was all… Read more

Derby County 1 Leeds United 3

Leeds came to Pride Park with a much changed
side since gaining promotion to the Premier League and Derby provided a guard of honour for the players as they came out for kick off. This was a much changed atmosphere from last season when Derby came from behind at Elland Road to knock them out in the play off semi final and mocking Leeds fans about the spy gate incident.

Leeds started well with Tyler Roberts forcing a smart save from Kelle Roos and Ian Poveda who had an excellent game having a goal ruled out for offside. The Rams took the lead on 54 minutes when
Chris Martin's shot from 10 yards was deflected in off Luke Ayling. Ayling had come on for Beradi in the first half after he suffered an ACL injury following a poor tackle by Derby's Sibley. However two… Read more

Leeds United 1 Barnsley 0

This was a top vs bottom encounter which had huge implications for both teams and in the end The Whites prevailed by the skin of their teeth. It will go down as their worst performance of the season and in truth The Tykes were extremely unlucky not to get something from the game. They had at least three clear cut chances to score but in the end it was an own goal that put Bielsa's men a point away from returning to The Championship with two games remaining. These were always the games Leeds lost in the past but another clean sheet sees them tantalising close to a return to the The Premiership after a 16 year absence.

The game changed in the 28th minute when Mads Andersen missed a great chance to head the opener and from the goal kick Leeds went on the… Read more

Swansea City 0 Leeds United 1

This was always going to be a difficult game at The Liberty Stadium as a win would put The Swans into the Play Off places while Leeds desperately needed at least a point to keep up their promotion push. And so it played out with Bamford missing two clear cut chances until Hernandez popped up in the 90th minute to seal a superb win for Bielsa's men. Leeds are now within touching distance of ending their 16-year Premier League exile and require four points from their three remaining fixtures to end the wait.

On an emotional day for all Leeds supporters the players marked the passing of club legend Jack Charlton before kick-off and then produced a performance that Big Jack would be proud of. In a game of few chances the defining moment came as the game ticked towards injury time. A superb run… Read more

Leeds United 5 Stoke City 0

Ever little step counts as Leeds United moved a step closer to ending their 16-year Premier League absence and what a way to do it with a superb performance in front of an empty Elland Road. It's the manner of the win which will gives huge confidence to the team and management with four games remaining in the season. Seven points will see us over the line and two of the remaining fixtures are at home.

Leeds took the lead on the stroke of half time when Mateusz Klich scored from the penalty spot after Helder Costa had been fouled in the area. Then three minutes into the second half Costa made it 2-0 to the home side. Confidence was now sky high for a dominant home side and captain Liam Cooper slammed in the third with a left foot drive from inside the box… Read more

Blackburn Rovers 1 Leeds United 3

This was always going to be a tough game going to Ewood Park as Rovers still had an outside chance of a top six spot while Leeds had stuttered at home to bottom team Luton. The nerves were settled after seven minutes for the visitors when Mateusz Klich tackled Lewis Travers 30 yards from goal and slipped the ball through for Patrick Bamford to slot home. Just the start every Leeds fan could have wished for.

Five minutes before half time Kalvin Phillips curled in a superb 25-yard free-kick into the top corner some minutes after Blackburn had hit the post. However three minutes in the second half Adam Armstrong halved the deficit soon with a wonderful free-kick. It was then up to Leeds to react quickly and thankfully five minutes later Klich restored the two-goal advantage with a shot that Rovers keeper Christian Walton… Read more

Leeds United 1 Luton Town 1

What a disappointment after our excellent result against Fulham to be held by bottom of the table Luton at Elland Road. The stats say we had 75 per cent possession, 23 shots on goal to The Hatters three and 15 corners to their one but once again we can't put the ball in the net. For the umpteen time I once again state that if we had a decent center forward who could get us 18-20 goals we'd be home and hosed in The Championship. Bamford is not the answer and Costa is certainly not worth the huge fee Wolves will receive from us at the end of the season should we get promoted.

Bielsa's side did not get going until Luton substitute Harry Cornick gave the visitors a shock second-half lead with a superb curling finish on the counter attack five minutes after the… Read more

Leeds United 3 Fulham 0

Leeds started very brightly at home to third place Fulham with Patrick Bamford putting the home side in front on ten minutes with a brilliant finish. The goal was set up by Helder Costa who played a sublime pass to Bamford who sided footed it home without breaking stride. In the opening two minutes The Cottagers top scorer Mitrovic should have seen red after clattering Ben White with an elbow that went unpunished. However TV showed it to be deliberate and without doubt the FA will revisit the incident as the referee took no action having not seen it one must presume. After the hosts goal it was all Fulham and over the 90 minutes they dominated the possession stakes which few teams do against Leeds.

It was at halt time that Bielsa made the two changes that decided the game and showing what a… Read more

Cardiff City 2 Leeds United 0

Once again Leeds came unstuck on their visit to Wales and missed a glorious chance to go back to the top of The Championship. They were dominating the game coming up to the 35 minute when Kalvin Phillips passed a ball without even looking and it was picked up by ex QPR forward Junior Hoillet just inside the half way line. He drove forward with Phillips in pursue and as three Leeds defenders backed off he hit a shot off his weaker left foot from outside the area that Meslier got a hand to but not enough to keep it out. Yes it was a massive mistake by Phillips but Meslier the rookie keeper was poor in his positioning for the goal.

This knocked Leeds back but they should have scored just before half time. Jack Harrison's shot from six yards was stooped on the… Read more

On Monday last we received the devastating news that Geraldine, darling wife of our founding member and driving force of Ennislusc Paul ( Nuggy), mother to Ruth and David had passed away. Geraldine had taken ill on the previous Thursday and despite the best efforts of the medical staff in the Regional Hospital she tragically left us early Monday morning. This tragedy was beyond belief and shook everyone that knew Geraldine to the core especially each and every member of Ennislusc. All our members could do was support our dear friend Paul and his family. To this end I would like to sincerely thank our club members and Paul's great friends Eoin Doohan and Enda Howard for being by his side every step of the way.

Ennislusc is a family, we are always there for each other and never was this more evident than this past week. Our excellent Secretary Mike… Read more

On Sunday next Leeds get back on the field of play after an absence of over three months due to the Covid 19 epidemic. After being on a high on the 7th March following a home win over Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town all of Europe and beyond then went into lock-down due to the virus. It is beyond ones comprehension what has happened and the tragedy that has unfolded following this virus. While all sports were ceased and stringent measures put in place we now see the Championship and Premier League start up again all be it behind closed doors.

Players have been following their own training regimes at home but as one can imagine this is not the same as their usual squad training. They are all tested for the virus on a regular basis since returning to training along with having their temperatures taken before every training session. With… Read more

Leeds United 2 Huddersfield Town 0

A superb Yorkshire derby win over The Terriers has put Bielsa's boys back on top of The Championship for the first time since 14th of December 2019. After a January hiccup Leeds have now won their past five games without conceding a goal. With results going there way at the weekend confidence is flooding back to the Elland Road faithful that The Premiership beckons.

Luke Ayling opened the scoring after three minutes with a phenomenal volley from Jack Harrison's fabulous left footed cross. This was just the start to settle the huge home crowd who didn't trouble Leeds keeper Illan Meslier too much over the ninety minutes. And to make it a great day for Leeds , Patrick Bamford ended his eight-match drought with a goal on fifty one minutes to put the game beyond Town.

Leeds have now a seven point gap to third… Read more

With Kiko Casilla suspended for eight games after being found guilty of racist comments Leeds Head coach Marcelo Bielsa handed a first league start to 19-year-old Illan Meslier. He had fortunately an easy nights work as Leeds kept a fourth clean sheet in a dominant display against The Tigers.

Leeds got the dream start on five minutes when Luke Ayling's 20-yard strike took a wicked deflection off Callum Elder and spun into the corner of the net. This was the confident start Leeds required and it had the away fans in full voice. Evergreen Pablo Hernandez doubled United's advantage at the start of the second half with a super finish following a great through ball from Costa.

With Bamford once again shooting blanks substitute Tyler Roberts completed the scoring with two more goals in the final 10 minutes. One does not want to be too… Read more

Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla has been banned for eight matches and fined £60,000 after being found guilty of racially abusing Charlton Athletic forward Jonathan Leko. The investigation began back in October and the game in question was played on 28th September at The Valley Grounds where Leeds slumped to a 1-0 defeat. Under rules introduced for the 2019-20 season, the minimum suspension for a player found guilty of an aggravated breach of the FA's discrimination rules is six matches, which can be increased depending on any additional aggravating factors.

The charge was found proven by an independent regulatory commission. This treat of suspension has been hanging over Casilla and the club for months and now as Leeds hit the final run in to the season their first choice keeper is unavailable. His first game of his suspension has already been served as he missed the home game vs Hull City.… Read more
