It was a second successive 4-1 defeat for Leeds who are now unfortunately beginning to leak goals at the back at an alarming rate. Once again Leeds were undone by set pieces for the opening two goals and the third was an own goal by Helder Costa. In truth Meslier in the Leeds goal didn't cover himself in glory and must take the blame for at least two if not three of the goals.

It was the €19.5M signing from Queens Park Rangers Eberechi Eze that caused the Leeds defence all sorts of problems in only his 5th ever Premiership game and also got his name on the score sheet. The first Palace goal came on 12 minutes when

Games turn on small moments and when after two minutes Patrick Bamford missed a gilt edge chance for the home side with his header from less than five yards out going straight into the hands of Kasper Schmeichel. From his throw out Fuchs launched a long ball down the left wing where Barnes hurrying Koch into the early mistake as the defender's pass back was picked up by Vardy who then laid it on a plate for his team-mate. Fifteen seconds after Leeds should have been ahead City hit on the break to go ahead on three minutes.

What a performance at Villa Park from Bielsa's men who were without England International midfielder Kalvin Phillips and captain Liam Cooper , both missing through injury. Add to that a makeshift defence and taking on the division's form team on their own patch it has to go down as their best performance under Bielsa.

And what can one say about the much maligned Patrick Bamford who conjured up a superb hat trick and could even have scored one or two more. Bamford has scored six goals in Leeds' first six league matches this season - only Eric Cantona in 1992-93 (also six) has scored as many goals for the club at this stage of a Premier League campaign. Leeds have enjoyed an excellent start to their first top-flight season since 2004 but suffered their first home defeat in 12 games in all competitions since February. A win would have taken Leeds up to third but Bielsa's side got a reality check from Nuno Espirito Santo's Wolves.

In only the second top-flight Elland Road meeting between these two clubs since 1981 it was Wolves who took all three points with a fortuitous goal by Jimenez. Struijk who came in for the injured Liam Cooper slipped as he challenged Jimenez who took the ball across field from the right flank before checking inside to shoot from the edge of the box. This game was billed as a battle between City manager Pep Guardiola and his inspiration Marcelo Bielsa who he has spoken fondly about sice he came to manage Leeds.It was all City for the first twenty minutes as Leeds looked nervous on the ball. When Raheem Sterling skipped past two defenders on 17 minutes while cutting in from the right wing and planting a shot in the corner of Meslier's net it was no more than City deserved. However this seemed to spur Leeds on and in a brilliant first half both Stuart Dallas and Luke Ayling forced Ederson into good saves while De Bruyne hit the post for City.

Last Sunday Darragh O Loughlin arrived down to Moroney's with his dad Ollie to watch the Sheffield United vs Leeds United game on TV and he came bearing a beautiful gift for Ennislusc. Darragh is an accomplished furniture designer ( Studio Luden ) based in The Stables in Tulla and he designed a beautiful plaque in honour of Leeds return to The Premiership after 16 years in The Championship and League 1. The exquisite plaque will adorn the walls of Moroney's bar in The Market home to the Ennis Leeds United Supporters Club.

Darragh worked in Moroney's some years back before he went to the States and Ger ( Hanna) Hanrahan showed him the ropes of bar work which he put to good use Stateside. Our excellent Secretary Mick Jones decided some weeks back to write a letter on behalf of Ennislusc to Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa thanking him for getting us back to the promised land that is The Premiership. In his letter Mick said how he had brought such joy to so many Leeds fans that he just wanted to express his thanks on their behalf. Little did Mick know that Bielsa would write back with a beautiful signed letter which arrived in the post this morning and this will shortly adorn the walls of Moroney's Bar home to Ennilusc.

Mick of course has the same name as the great Leeds United and England centre forward of the 60's and 70's and on the front of the envelop with Mick's address was the words in brackets nice name in reference to his namesake. Mick has kindly donated the letter to the club… Read more

The much maligned Patrick Bamford has had a brilliant start to his career back in The Premiership scoring in three successive top flight games while struggling last season to hit the net. His 88th minute header earned Leeds United a hard-fought victory three points over The Blades who are still searching for their first points and goals of the season. It had all the hall marks of a scoreless draw and in truth most Leeds fans would have been delighted with a point. Only for two first half world class saves by Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier who rightly won the Man Of The Match Award the story would have been much different.

For the second successive week Leeds were involved in a seven goal thriller but on this occasion thankfully they came away with the three points. Leeds opening two Premier League games have seen 14 goals this season (F7 A7), the most for a top-flight side's opening two matches since Wolves in 1962-63 (F12 A2). After Leeds agonising defeat at Anfield it was imperative that they picked up the points at home to Fulham and they got off to the perfect start. Helder Costa's fifth-minute half volley went in off the underside of the crossbar for a dream start for Bielsa's team.

What an opening game for Leeds on their return to The Premiership after 16 years in The Championship. Taking on the Premier League Champions, the World Club Champions and if that was not tough enough having to go to Anfield for the fixture. They certainly don't come tougher than that but Bielsa's team certainly relished the challenge and put in a superb performance while unfortunately coming away empty handed but garnisheeing many admirers with their high energy play.

Then to conceded a penalty after four minutes to The Champions when new signing Robin Koch handled the ball which Mohamed Salah dispatching with aplomb certainly would have upset most teams but not Leeds. Our new President of Ennislusc is the legendary Kilrush Shamrock's and Clare senior footballer Seamus O Doherty. Doc as he's known to one and all was a brilliant centre back in the all conquering Kilrush Shamrock's senior football team who won five county senior titles in a row from 1975-79. While he's a Sham at heart his other great sporting love is Leeds United and he's been a passionate supporter of The Whites since 1969. His son Donal is also a member of Ennislusc and hopefully in the not too distant future we can meet up to welcome our new President to office.

Today saw our outgoing President of Ennislusc and first lady President Noelette Barry step down from her position having done an incredible job in her year in office. Some people might see the position as a figure head and a nice accolade but to Noelette it was a great honour and she was determined to make her mark. From the outset she was instrumental in setting up the Leeds Wags Whats App group (since changed to Leeds Ladies )and was determined to get the ladies more involved in all things Leeds.

Noelette wanted the Ennislusc group to stand out from other Supporters Clubs when going to Elland Road for games or simply down to Moroney's for matches. When the fixtures were about to be released yesterday morning it was a fantastic day for all Leeds supporters as after years in the wilderness we were now dreaming of playing the Arsenal's, Man City's and Chelsea's of this world. After being relegated in the 2003/04 season little did we think that we would be 16 years in the Championship and even League 1. However us Leeds fans never lost the passion despite all the heartache of near promotion runs and slagging from fans of other clubs that our day would finally come.

So when we found out that our first fixture of the new season was an away fixture to the champions Liverpool at Anfield it certainly had our heart racing. There are three different design types, each with the Leeds Centenary crest on the front and very colourful in the club colours. If nothing else Ennislusc will be the best togged out supporters club heading to Elland Road this season following on from our recent acquisition of new jackets and tops. The club are very thankfully for Mike's patience with this onerous job of dealing with the supplier, getting the right sizes for each individual member on top of collecting the monies which as one can appreciate takes up a lot of ones time.

Ex Leeds United star Lee Bowyer brings his Charlton side to Elland Road needing a result to stay in The Championship but with The Whites receiving the Championship trophy following the game he need not expect any favours from Bielsa and co. The home side got off to the perfect start on thirteen minutes when on loan Brighton defender Ben White hit a stunning volley from 18 yards to score his first goal for the club. Unfortunately with no buy out clause in the contract for Leeds this has only added value to Ben's already rising stock.

Leeds came to Pride Park with a much changed
side since gaining promotion to the Premier League and Derby provided a guard of honour for the players as they came out for kick off. This was a much changed atmosphere from last season when Derby came from behind at Elland Road to knock them out in the play off semi final and mocking Leeds fans about the spy gate incident.

Leeds started well with Tyler Roberts forcing a smart save from Kelle Roos and Ian Poveda who had an excellent game having a goal ruled out for offside. The Rams took the lead on 54 minutes when

This was a top vs bottom encounter which had huge implications for both teams and in the end The Whites prevailed by the skin of their teeth. It will go down as their worst performance of the season and in truth The Tykes were extremely unlucky not to get something from the game. They had at least three clear cut chances to score but in the end it was an own goal that put Bielsa's men a point away from returning to The Championship with two games remaining. These were always the games Leeds lost in the past but another clean sheet sees them tantalising close to a return to the The Premiership after a 16 year absence.

This was always going to be a difficult game at The Liberty Stadium as a win would put The Swans into the Play Off places while Leeds desperately needed at least a point to keep up their promotion push. And so it played out with Bamford missing two clear cut chances until Hernandez popped up in the 90th minute to seal a superb win for Bielsa's men. Leeds are now within touching distance of ending their 16-year Premier League exile and require four points from their three remaining fixtures to end the wait.

On an emotional day for all Leeds supporters the players marked the passing of club legend Jack Charlton before kick-off and then produced a performance that Big Jack would be proud of. Ever little step counts as Leeds United moved a step closer to ending their 16-year Premier League absence and what a way to do it with a superb performance in front of an empty Elland Road. It's the manner of the win which will gives huge confidence to the team and management with four games remaining in the season. Seven points will see us over the line and two of the remaining fixtures are at home.
