Economical Spurs Win At Elland Road

Leeds United 1 Tottenham Hotspur 2

Daniel Farke's side had not tasted home defeat since early September 2024 against Burnley in the Championship and once again unfortunately it was our inability to score despite numerous chances that led to this defeat. Spurs took the lead on 23 minutes when Mathys Tel running on to Kudus through ball hit a superb strike from 20 yards into the back of the net. Once again Leeds suffered a bit of bad luck as a deflection off Pascal Struijk caught goalkeeper Karl Darlow out.

Eleven minutes later Leeds were back on parity when Dominic Calvert-Lewin held off two defenders to touch the ball down for Brenden Aaronson. His shot parried away by Guglielmo Vicario but went straight into the path of Noah Okafor who gratefully slotted in the rebound. Spurs regained the lead on 57 minutes as the rain lashed down on Elland Road. It… Read more

Heartbreak Once Again For Leeds

Leeds United 2 Bournemouth 2

New signing and ex Newcastle United star Sean Longstaff gave an inspirational performance for Leeds who unfortunately were denied a victory with a 93rd minute equaliser for The Terriers. The visitors took the lead on 26 minutes when Antoine Semenyo free-kick from the edge of the box went under the wall which jumped and beyond Karl Darlow. On 37 minutes Leeds roared back when Joe Rodon rose highest to head home Sean Longstaff's corner.

Leeds started the second half in determined fashion and deservedly scored on 54 minutes. Longstaff struck home brilliantly from the edge of the box after the ball was headed clear. Leeds defended valiantly after taking the lead and looked on to take all three points until that dramatic finish. They conceded a needless free in stoppage time and after the ball was headed on Kroupi volleyed home from eight yards.

Three Goals, Three Points, Happy Days

Wolverhampton Wanderers 1 Leeds United 3

Having failed to score in the Premiership since the opening day of the season Leeds claimed their first Premier League away win of the season at Molineux Stadium while also scoring from play for the first time this season. It was a joyous first half for Leeds fans although after eight minutes when Ladislav Krejci put the home side ahead it didn't seem so. However The Whites delivered a super performance for the remainder of the half scoring some superb goals also.

On 31 minutes Dominic Calvert-Lewin brilliantly headed Jayden Bogle's cross past Jose Sa to level the game and gain plaudits from the Leeds fans. Eight minutes later a absolutely super free kick from Anton Stach put Leeds ahead and on the stroke of half time the visitors struck for a third. Noah Okafor ran on to Stach's pass and guided a left-footed… Read more

Heartbreak At The Cottage For Leeds

Fulham 1 Leeds United 0

A Gabriel Gudmundsson own goal in the 4th minute of stoppage time handed The Cottagers a fortunate first Premier League win of the season. It was cruel on Leeds who more than deserved a point but once again the London curse hit The Whites. The only chances of a poor first half fell to Leeds with Dominic Calvert-Lewin sending a free header straight at Bernd Leno. Just before half time Sean Longstaff excellent drive clipping the top of the crossbar. Fulham didn't trouble stand in goalkeeper Karl Darlow who was replacing injured first-choice keeper Lucas Perri.

Fulham came more into the game in the second half and Karl Darlow produced a fine stop from Harry Wilson's free-kick. Fulham's new Brazilian signing Kevin Santos Lopes de Macedo ( known as Kevin) made his debut on 74 minutes and his intervention had a big bearing on the… Read more

Dour Draw But A Priceless Point

Leeds United 0 Newcastle United 0

By any standards this was a very poor spectacle but its a very precious point at home for Leeds against a Champions League side. The home side did not have a shot on target until the closing stages while The Magpies did not test new goalkeeper Lucas Perri until a Jacob Murphy shot just before half-time. In total there were 3 shots on target from both sides from a total of 18 and that tells its own story.

Murphy once again forced Perri into a fine one-handed stop from 25 yards late on in the second half and this was Newcastles second shot on target . Leeds substitute Dominic Calvert-Lewin had a half chance late on but Nick Pope made a save with his foot. It's blatantly obvious that we lack punch up front and this has been our achilles heel over the last… Read more

Huge Reality Check For Farke And Co

Arsenal 5 Leeds United 0

It was a jubilant atmosphere at The Emirates Stadium when new signing Eberechi Eze (£68M from Crystal Palace ) was introduced to the home supporters and unfortunately for Leeds it didn't end there. They were shown in no uncertain manner what lays ahead as this was truly a drubbing and all we can do is park this result and move on.

Our games are not against any of the top six teams and I doubt any Leeds fans was expecting us to get anything from this game. We will have more games like this but hopefully not too many. Staying us is our priority, nothing else. MOT

Mighty Start For The Whites

Leeds United 1 Everton 0

For the opening game of the Premiership season Ennislusc were well represented at Elland Road with Kevin Barry, Kieran and Aaron Ryan, Steve Underwood and the Galvin family in attendance. And what a wonderful experience for them to see not alone a dominant display from Leeds but more importantly a brilliant three points to kick off our season. Despite all our new signings we still need an out and out centre forward and this was blatantly obvious here as we looked toothless up front.

Daniel Farke's side were well on top but looked like having to settle for a point until Everton captain James Tarkowski handled Anton Stach's shot six minutes from time. To say this divided opinions as to whether it was a penalty or not didn't matter to Leeds supporters as long as it was scored. Nmecha who was only on the field… Read more

March On With Ennislusc

Ennislusc had their biggest ever outing when two bus loads of supporters headed to The Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday 9th August for the glamour friendly Leeds United vs AC Milan. It was a historic rematch 24 years in the making (their first meeting since the 2000/01 Champions League season when Dominic Matteo scored in the 1-1 draw which qualified Leeds for the second phase) and ironically this game also ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Aviva was a sell out and it is testimony to the huge following Leeds United have in Ireland. Being back in The Premiership one would hope that a new generation of Leeds fans will come to the fore and follow The Whites. A huge word of thanks to Ennislusc Secretary Mike Jones who organized the superb trip. Mile Buiochas Mick.

The Premiership Dream Is On The Horizon

The start of The Premiership season is around the corner with Leeds United thankfully back in the mix. It was with positivity that us supporters looked at what new faces would be brought in by Daniel Farke and his management to bolster our chances of most importantly staying in the division. Unfortunately we still have not have got a new centre forward which is of paramount importance if we are to stay out of the relegation fight.

We Are The Champions My Friends -MOT

Plymouth Argyle 1 Leeds United 2

All us Leeds fans know that we don't do easy and boy did they make us sweat today to win The Championship. Manor Solomon's stoppage-time winner secured us the Championship title after we were put through a mountain of emotions with first Burnley being behind and then looking as champions. The Pilgrims took the lead on eighteen minutes when the excellent Mustapha Bundu's shot came back off the post and in off Sam Byram for an og. Prior to this Bundu had hit the post with an effort while Joe Rodon and Brenden Aaronson saw efforts saved by an excellent Conor Hazard. Byram, Ao Tanaka and Willy Gnonto all had half-chances but at the interval Leeds needed a huge second half to end their season on a high.

Piroe fired over as the second half started and on 53 minutes Leeds were level. Gnonto… Read more

What A Performance

Leeds United 4 Bristol City 0

There was a party atmosphere at Elland Road last night with promotion already confirmed it was now down to the business of going up as champions. With Burnley three points ahead it was imperative that Leeds beat The Robins who themselves are in the play off places so it was no easy task facing Farke's men. However they saved their best performance of the season for their last home game and now a win at Plymouth Argyle next Saturday will confirm Leeds go up as champions no matter the result in the Burnley vs Millwall game. So the 46 game season is now down to 90 minutes at 12.30 pm on Saturday next.

Leeds took a deserved lead on twenty one minutes when Ao Tanaka finished brilliantly at the back post from Manor Solomon's deep cross. The home side eased the home crowds nerves… Read more

Within Touching Distance Of The Premiership

Oxford United 0 Leeds United

This was Leeds first league visit to Oxford Kassam Stadium since March 1990 a season which finished with Howard Wilkinson's boys winning promotion to the top flight. Leeds met a stubborn U's side but took the lead on 33 minutes following a flowing move. Man Of The Match Joe Rodon's excellent pass set Jayden Bogle free down the right and he picked out Manor Solomon at the back post to drive it home. It was a ninth goal for the Israel winger who is on loan from Tottenham Hotspur and surely Leeds will look to buy him in the summer providing we get promotion.

Leeds continued to press in the second half and Bogle shot wide with a good chance to make the game safe. Japan International Ao Tanaka was unlucky not to finish it late on when he struck the inside of the post… Read more

Promotion Is In Our Own Hands Now

Leeds United 2 Preston North End 1

Leeds United returned to the top of the Championship table with a deserved victory over The Lilywhites with four games remaining in the season. For the second successive game Daniel Farke's men took an lead after four minutes when Manor Solomon's super strike from 20 yards billowed the net. This was what the home crowd hoped for but less than two minutes later Preston were level. Full back Kaine Kesler-Hayden cut in on to his left foot and thumped home a superb finish but Firpo didn't cover himself in glory with his defending here. Thirtheen minutes later Leeds were back in front when Jayden Bogle close-range finish from Solomon's excellent cross from the left hit the onion sack to lift the home crowd.

Leeds totally dominated thereafter and should have wrapped up the win when striker Joel Piroe smashed a close range shot against… Read more

Grip And Determination See Leeds Secure The Points

Middlesbrough 0 Leeds United 1

Leeds headed to The Riverside Stadium short on confidence after three successive draws but after two minutes Dan James settled the nerves. James slid in to score his 12th goal of the season following Manor Solomon's cross. James continued to torment the Boro defence as he tested goalkeeper Mark Travers with a good effort and curled a third effort just over as the Whites dominated the early stages. Leeds got out of jail when Tommy Conway had the ball in the net but was flagged for offside. A few minutes later the same fate befell Japan midfielder Ao Tanaka but on this occassion TV pictures showed he was a yard on side but with no VAR in The Championship the goal was chalked off much to the annoyance of the Leeds fans in attendance.

Leeds should have added to their tally at the start of… Read more

Major Disaster To Our Promotion Hopes

Luton Town 1 Leeds United 1

Seven points from their last six Championship matches tells it's own tail as Leeds once again failed to win despite dominating the possession stakes. Farke made a big call for the Kenilworth Road clash dropping gpoalkeeper Illian Meslier and replacing him with Welsh International Karl Darlow. He almost had an immediate impact when his excellent throw released Solomon down the wing and his cross was headed by Dan James but Luton goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski made a good save.

The Hatters took the lead on fifteen minutes when Clark crossed to the unmarked Jones at the far post for a simple volleyed finish with left back Firpo marked absent. On 28 minutes the visitors got back on level terms thanks to Dan James. He chased the ball after a corner had been cleared out to the right wing ,cut inside and hit a screamer into… Read more

Meslier Drops A Clanger

Leeds United 2 Swansea City 2

Leeds automatic promotion hopes suffered another blow as Swansea City's 96th-minute goal earned them a point in a drama filled afternoon at Elland Road. There to witness the drama were Ennislusc members Kieran Ryan, Steve Underwood, Brendan and Paul Shanahan, Finbar Power, Lisa Fitzgerald, Frankie Cahill, Peter Webb, Kevin Barry, Gary Collins and his partner April and their son Harvey Collins. The Whites went ahead after just 35 seconds when Brenden Aaronson finished off a goalmouth scramble by poking home from point-blank range. It was what every Leeds supporter needed to calm the nerves and hopefully drive on from here to secure the valueable three points but as we all know that's not LEEDS !

Against the run of play in the first half The Swans were awarded a penalty when Joe Rodon was adjudged to have fouled Lewis O Brien as both raced… Read more

A Point Gained Given The Start

Queens Park Rangers 2 Leeds United 2

Trips to London especially early morning kick offs are not a Leeds specialty and so it proved again today. Leeds started brightly with Joel Piroe volleying over but on seventeen minutes disaster struck. Japanese winger Saito took advantage of a ridiculous loose pass from Brenden Aaronson in his own box and hit a superb effort beyond Illan Meslier. It was a give away goal from the American who the fans are losing patience with quickly. On the half hour The R's made it 2-0. Paul Smyth combined down the right wing with Lucas Andersen and his cross into the box was headed home by QPR captain Steve Cooke who had a free header. Shocking defending once more from Leeds.

With five minutes remaining in the first half Leeds got a lifeline. Junior Firpo's effort deflecting off Hoops defender Fox into the net after Aaronson,… Read more

Leeds Tame The Lions

Leeds United 2 Millwall 0

Leeds got off to a brilliant if somewhat lucky start when in the third minute Manor Solomon's cut-back was deflected off the knee of Millwall defender Jake Cooper and past goalkeeper Lukas Jensen for an own goal. Joel Piroe thought he had added a second goal shortly after but his excellent finish was ruled out for an offside call as Aaronson who played the assist was in an offside position. Jake Cooper had The Lions best first half chance to headed over from a corner.

The second half was a very cagey affair but Solomon hit the crossbar with an effort before on 85 minutes Leeds sealed the points. Tanaka hit a screamer which nestled in the top corner and settled the home crowd. Leeds are now back on top after Sheffield United dropped points at home to Bristol City on Tuesday evening.

Missed Chances End Leeds Unbeaten League Run

Portsmouth 1 Leeds United 0

Leeds United's 17-game unbeaten league run came to an ended at Fratton Park where a more determined Pompey deserved their win. Leeds huffed and puffed while Piroe missed two gilt edged chances to score. Referee Robert Jones who had a mare denied the away side a stonewall penalty when Matt Richie kicked through Dan James in the penalty area. Sky Sports pundit and ex Leeds manager Neil Warnock described it as a disgrace that a penalty was not awarded and all the panel agreed it was a penalty but not in such forthright terms. Last August both sides played out a 3-3 draw at Elland Road and with Pompey in great form recently this was always going to be a tough game and so it proved. As Daniel Farke said in his post match interview "They are in red hot form at home and we… Read more
