Tottenham Hotspur 4 Leeds United 3

If ever there was a game that Leeds didn't deserve to lose this certainly has to be it. Leeds led three times and then gifting Spurs two late goals to seal an unlikely win. Added to that Spurs first goal should have been disallowed for a blatant foul on Meslier. Then Jesse Marsch took off midfielder Marc Roco who was dominating midfield , left on Tyler Adams who was on a yellow and put on Luke Ayling who's only back from injury and suddenly the pendulum swung Spurs way.

Leeds flew out of traps and on ten minutes Crysencio Summerville opened the scoring with his fourth consecutive Premiership goal. Against the run of play on twenty five minutes Harry Kane rifled in an equaliser from close range after wrong footing Kristensen. As already stated this goal despite going to VAR should have been disallowed… Read more

Well it's safe to say that the Ennislusc members at Elland Road today witnessed one of the strangest and best games they are ever likely to see in any Premiership season. Those lucky enough to to be in attendance were Paul, David and Ruth Nihill, Steve Underwood, Paul Corbett, Paidi Fitzpatrick, Neil O Loughlin, Cian Murphy, Rob Morrissey, Colin & Michelle Ryan and their three kids Adam & Lucy who are Leeds fans while Jack supports The Cherries. Leeds got off to a superb start when awarded a penalty after less than a minute. Rodrigo scored from the penalty spot after Marcos Senesi brought down Crysencio Summerville literally straight from the kick off. After beating Liverpool the previous week this was what everyone hoped for but that sense of optimism quickly faded.

But their dream start quickly turned sour as Bournemouth equalised on seven… Read more

Liverpool 1 Leeds United 2

One would have got unbelievable odds from Paddy Power that Jesse Marsch would still be in charge of Leeds after this fixture let alone would they win at Anfield for the first time in 21 years but miracles do happen every now and again. Thankfully for The Whites this was to be their night and the win takes them out of the relegation zone. Leeds got off to a dream start on four minutes in a calamitous way. Gomez, out on the touch line played a ridiculous pass back to Alisson selling his goalkeeper short and a shocked but grateful Rodrigo nipped in and score. It was beyond all Leeds fans expectations but was the lift the team and fans needed.

Liverpool upped the tempo and ten minutes later were level when Mohamed Salah volleyed in from Andy Robertson's cross. Rather than knock Leeds off… Read more

Ennislusc are represented at Elland Road with Kevin Barry, Dom O Rourke, Brian Woods, Kieran Ryan and David O Grady in attendance and were hoping and praying for three points. However what they saw was another poor performance and defeat with the crowd chanting for Marsch out with ten minutes remaining and the home side 3-1 in arrears. It had started well for the home side when Rodrigo's header on twenty minutes gave them hope of a first win since August.

However this was a false dawn and six minutes later The Cottagers were level. Again it was from a set piece which has been Leeds achilles heal since our return to The Premiership. They allowed Aleksandar Mitrovic an unchallenged close-range header from a corner with Ayling no where close enough to him to challenge. After this Fulham took over and on 74 minutes Decordova-Reid… Read more

In what had been termed as a must win game for both teams it was Leeds who capitulated and put on their worst performance of Jeese Marsch's tenure. The visitors were booed off at half-time as they trailed to a Robin Koch own goal in what was The Foxes first attack. and a second 10 minutes before the break from Harvey Barnes, who extended his record of scoring every time he plays against Leeds to five Premier League games.

Leeds struck the bar through Sinisterra but never looked like turning this around. Substitute Liam Cooper had an effort saved by Leicester keeper Danny Ward but in truth Leeds didn't deserve anything from the game given their performance. The final whistle brought more negative chants from the away supporters and Jesse Marsch's is now walking on thin ice with them. Another huge game on Sunday… Read more

Leeds United 0 Arsenal 1

The match started in a welter of excitement when after 23 seconds the referee he halted the match because of a power cut at Elland Road which meant referee Chris Kavanagh lost communication with the video assistant referee (VAR) officials, while goalline technology was down too. On the resumption some 40 minutes later Leeds were dominating proceedings until inexplicable Rodrigo decided to play a cross field pass which was intercepted by Bukayo Saka. He exchanged passes with Martin Odegaard who played him in on goal and he made no mistake on 35 mins to put the Gunners one up.

Bamford was sent on at the start of the second half for Rodrigo and he almost made an immediate impact but his close-range strike was ruled out for a push on Gabriel. Worse was to befall Bamford as on 74 minutes he had a glorious chance to… Read more

Leeds started very brightly at Selhurst Park and deservedly took the lead on ten minutes when Pascal Struijk drove in after Brenden Aaronson hit the post following excellent work inside the box when evading three defenders. Patrick Bamford who was making his first Leeds start since August should have increased the away sides lead but Vicente Guaita made an excellent save.

On 24 minutes ex Celtic star Odsonne Edouard headed in from Michael Olise's free-kick with the marking in the Leeds defence all at sea. With 15 minutes remaining ex QPR starlet Eberechi Eze secured the three points with a superb individual strike. He ran across the edge of the area after receiving a pass from Edouard, left Liam Cooper in a heap before firing low into the back of the net.

The win moves Palace up to 15th, level on nine points with Leeds, who… Read more

Leeds United 0 Aston Villa 0

Leeds welcomed Stevie Gerrard's side to Elland Road and in an ill tempered game that saw the home side reduced to ten men three minutes into the second half a draw was a welcome point for the home supporters. Leeds battled to earn a goalless draw with Aston Villa despite playing with only 10 men for the majority of the second half. Colombia winger Luis Sinisterra was sent off after 48 minutes for two bookings firstly for a foul on John McGinn and then ridiculously blocking the ball when Douglas Luiz tried to take a quick free-kick.

Following the sending off Philippe Coutinho's nearly gave Villa the lead when his volley bounced off the woodwork with England striker Ollie Watkins unable to convert the rebound. This was as good as it got for the away side as Leeds defended bravely and indeed could have… Read more

Brentford 5 Leeds United 2

Brentford boss Thomas Frank said in his post match interview that hat trick hero Ivan Toney should be considered for England's World Cup squad for Qatar and on this form it's hard to argue with his assessment. He absolutely destroyed the Leeds back line all afternoon and was unlucky not to notch a fourth goal as his effort hit the crossbar.Toney opened the scoring on the half hour with a penalty. This was awarded after a foul by Luis Sinisterra on him and followed a long VAR intervention. Two minutes before the interval he doubled his account with a fantastic free kick following a foul by Koch that left Meslier rooted to the spot. A minute into injury time Sinisterra pulled a goal back for Leeds with a superb effort from the edge of the box.

This one would imagine would give Leeds hope but… Read more

Leeds welcomed The Toffees to Elland Road but played second best to them in a very poor first half for Marsch's men. On 17 minutes Anthony Gordon slipped the ball through Illan Meslier's legs following Alex Iwobi's through ball to put Frank Lampard's boys ahead. Worse was to come for Leeds when on 32 minutes top scorer this season Rodrigo had to go off with what looked like a dislocated shoulder following a clash with Everton & England keeper Jordan Pickford. Certainly he'll be missing for a few weeks and will be a huge loss given his current form.

Leeds were much improved in the second half and got back on level terms on 55 minutes. New signing from Feyenoord Luis Sinisterra scored from 18 yards for his second goal in a week following his strike in the EFL Cup. He looks a really good… Read more

Leeds came crashing back down to earth with a very lackluster display against The Seagulls who were creating a record of their own of nine consecutive games in The Premiership without defeat. Jesse Marsch will certainly be searching for reasons for this poor display as they were a pale shadow of the team that defeated Chelsea comprehensively last weekend.

Centre half Adam Webster headed wide from an excellent position in the first half while Solly March twice shot straight at Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier. In fairness Brighton were much the better team in the opening half and deserved to be ahead if the truth be told. Leeds started the second half at a much higher tempo and should have taken the lead on the hour mark. Substitute Luis Sinisterra failed to hit gaping goal after Brighton's Pervis Estupinan inadvertently sent his clearance… Read more

What a day it was at Elland Road for Ennislusc members Paul McGuane, Barry Higgins and Mick Parry who along with his brother in law witnessed a stunning victory for Jesse Marsch's team against high flying Chelsea. While the Ennislusc Supporters Club gathered in Moroney's Bar to cheer on their heroes on the same day that Steve Underwood accepted his Club Presidents chain of office.

Leeds who were under the cosh for the first twenty minutes rode their luck as Raheem Sterling had a goal disallowed for offside but took the lead on 33 minutes in bizarre circumstances. Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy miscontrolled a back pass allowing Brenden Aaronson to nip in and tap home. It's one of those case were goalkeepers think they can dribble out past the on coming attacker and if it goes pear shaped as it did in this case they… Read more

Leeds capitulated on the hottest day in Premier League history when throwing away a two goal advantage at St Mary's. How Leeds boss Jesse Marsch didn't make substitutions until six minutes from time after The Saints drew level is baffling or rather shocking management. It was the injection of fresh pace from the bench that gave Saints the lift with ex Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo leading the way.

Leeds took the lead a minute after the interval when Spanish International Rodrigo Moreno met Jack Harrison's cross with a deft flick finish to open the scoring. Fourteen minutes later on the hour Leeds went 2 up and it was that man again Rodrio. This time he heading in Pascal Struijk's goal-bound effort for his second from virtually on the line and it looked like Leeds were on course for two wins in a row.

If the groans at Elland Road were bad after Wolves hit the net on six minutes they were equally as bad for those of us watch on TV but with an extra one or two expletives. It was shocking defending from Kristensen who was brushed aside by Castro Otto and his cross was headed down by Neto for Daniel Podence to knock home.

Certainly not the start Leeds fans expected and it looked… Read more

What a heart stopping game at Elland Road which thankfully Leeds managed to scramble an equaliser in the second minute of in jury time to keep our slim Premiership hopes alive for the last game. Ennislusc member Paul & Sean Harte and Tommy Kelly were in attendance in a crowd of 36,638 at Elland Road to see this nerve wrecking game. The Seagulls dominated the early exchanges and deservedly went ahead on twenty one minutes. Ex Man United player Danny Welbeck turned Diego Llorente two ways before flicking the ball over keeper Illan Meslier for a brilliant opening goal.

The home supporters roared Leeds on and Brighton keeper Robert Sanchez brilliantly denied Mateusz Klich in each half while also pushing away a Raphinha. Leeds have managed seven goals in injury time this season and so it was to be again today. Young… Read more

Last day of the season and everything on the line foe Leeds. They had to go to London which certainly isn't a happy hunting ground for The Yorkshire men and hope to better Burnley's result at home to Newcastle United. The odds were certainly stacked against Jesse Marsch men but after a tense first half they put in a wonderful second forty five minutes and a winner from Jack Harrison two minutes into injury time sent the travelling Leeds supporters into delirium. Now it didn't matter what Burnley did a Turf Moore, Leeds were staying in The Premiership.

News of Newcastle's penalty award on twenty minutes at Turf Moor was filtering into the visiting section when Joe Gelhardt shot to the Brentford net from ten yards only for VAR to rule it out. Still Newcastle scored and Leeds were in the driving seat provided the… Read more

In a game that Leeds needed to take at least a point to stay out of the relegation's zone they conjured up an ill-disciplined display starting with a calamitous error by goalkeeper Illian Meslier for Arsenals opener at only five minutes.
Luke Ayling playing in his 500th league game and captain for the day played a back pass to Meslier who dallied on the ball and Eddie Nketiah pounced on the keepers loose touch to open the scoring. Five minutes late The Gunners doubled their advantage when ex Leeds loanee Mketiah side footed home without a defender in sight.

This was always going to be an extremely difficult game for The Whites against one of the top club sides in Europe and so it proved to be. There was no same involved as Leeds gave it their all but sometimes you have to hold your hand up and say we were outclassed as was the case at Elland Road today. City produced the perfect response to Premier League title rivals Liverpool by outclassing Leeds United to go back on top of The Premiership.

Reigning Premier League champions City went ahead in the 13th minute when Rodri glanced home Phil Foden's free-kick and from here on to the finish it was damage limitations for the hone side.
