Lads, saw this article online over the weekend. Kinda restores some balance to the whole "Leeds are animals" debate. Copy the link link below into your browser :- http://www.owlsalive.com/featured/2012/10/22/people-in-glass-houses/ Very good article. Love the bit at the end about Warnock turning to the bench....enjoy

Hello fellow members, this is my first post on this site as I am of the older crew and would be hesitant to comment unless it was knowledgeable or informative, but on friday night all that changed. I went into Moroneys bar and felt so proud of our supporters club where the only standing room left was in the toilet. Stuck in the middle was PJ and Des, two Chelsea supporters out for friday night pints and mystified as to how they can only gather as handful together at any given time. By the time the game was over everything had changed due to the moronic behaviour of one of 'our' away supporters. I have been a member of Ennis LUSC since its inception and previously a member of the Galway branch with whom I also travelled and locally I am often asked about Leeds economic welfare and footballing progress as we have bounced around the football divisions. These enquiries are generally warm and supportive as they are from supporters of other English clubs, but I'm sure I will have to endure a few sarcastic ones this time. Over the years as an Irishman I question my loyalty to 'foreign games' and have been slagged for wearing an English 'geansa'. As a father and grandfather I dont ever want to compromise my safety at matches. My good friend Gearid 'Mannix' Mannion and I were in Landsdowne Road for the last infamous England game which turned into a riot and at the back of the stand where the riots started was the flag of St.George with a leeds united emblazoned across it, I did not travel to matches for some time as a result of this display by some Leeds fans a club which I was associated with. These incidents do not happen on visits to Croke Park or Thomond Park when watching other codes. Anyway this has turned into an essay but I just had to comment as I thought we had turned a corner and had gained respect but unfortunately theres always one. I can handle being called a 'sheep shagger' but its what people do when they come down from the mountain concerns me. As for marc...

Dear Johnny and committee, I got your mail regarding the cheque to the John Giles Foundation and Paul's texts regarding the presentation to Cahercalla Hospice. Sincerest congratulations to all the committee and all involved in the organisation of the Classic. On both years the day itself has been an occasion to savour. The fact that John Giles attends, but most especially attended again this year, shows the respect he has for the work being done but I fell mainly the satisfaction he feels that such a group of people as ELUSC exists. Long may the Classic continue. Well done. Beir bua, John Finn
