Sorry it's been a while since I've been on! Babies, etc! I was working in Leeds & Manchester this week & managed to get the Ipswich game in. My God we're crap but cannot wait for the trip!Outside of our 2 center halves & Woody up front I think the rest of the team are under 4 foot! Certainly looked like it up against Mick's men. We didn't win a header all night. Our old boy Johnny Douglas played an anchor role for the tractor boys. He hadn't much to do in fairness. We were never a threat! The highlight of the evening was to see the Peacock has been revamped!
Looking forward to the trip. It's been 4 years since I last went. Big respect also to Nuggy on his immense work as secretary. Big shoes to fill for Mick!

All this talk of weddings takes me back to when I was nobbut a lad. Back when Leeds had a half decent side, I thought it would be a great idea to tek girlfriend t'Baseball Ground to see the Mighty Leeds give Derby a beating.The Rams had other idea's and stormed into a two goals lead.
Sez I t'lass, " if Leeds get owt out of this, I'll marry yer!" Not for one minute did I see wedding bells on't horizon, thought I was safe enough, the boys were playin' shite.
Second half and I can't believe me eyes, it's a complete turnaround, anyroad, Lash Lorimer is instrumental in fashioning an unexpected 2-2 draw , crashing in a 'special' in the top corner. In the excitement I'd forgotten all about me rash promise, until a couple of years later I was dragged down t'aisle.
Fast forward a few decades, and I find mesen on a trip to Elland Road wi a bunch of crazy Irish blokes. On the way back from t'game a few of us called into the aforementioned legend Lash's pub. So I'm standing ordering a few pints, when I casually mentioned to Mine Host that it was his fault that I ended up married to which he replied "How do you work that out?"
After I'd explained, he retorted " What's your problem? I scored, you scored,everybody's happy!" Must have been a good omen,been married to 'Our Lass' for 37 years, and we still hold hands!

Lucky we didn't pick game v Blackburn on 31st October for club trip it's been brought forward to Thursday 29th Oct KO 7.45 live on sky( night in Moroneys no doubt.) Don't think I'll make it in tomorrow for Derby game (Still licking the wounds from last weekend)
