'Corn for poppin' tour, Part2. Saturday dawned fine and dry, no sign of the previous nights snow, lads were up fairly lively, some more than others, some even heading off to sample the delights of local hostelries. It was suggested that we
meet back at the hotel to collect tickets.
Being a nice day and all, and no sign of snow, a brisk walk to the ground was just the job to clear fuzzy heads.
The Peacock was the first port of call, to set the mood and meet the crew. Into the stadium then and a healthy crowd for a local derby, why, even Slim had bought into the vibe and got himself a last minute ticket!
Less said about the match the better, the two strikers leaving their shooting boots back in the changing room, Clarke and Jones they ain't.
Nugs, Dom and myself popped into Billys to drown the sorrows and witnessed Citeh tek a batin off the 'Pool, t'ain't so baaad.
Despite the loss, the city was buzzing and it took a while to find somewhere to get tucker. The hour was getting late and an early start on the morrow found us heading back to the hotel for a nightcap.
Back in the Clayton there was a motley crew having mighty craic, the drink was flowing and so were the gags. Nuggy told a great story about advice Ger had given him when he couldn't sleep one night after a trip. Focus on a white sheet she tells him.
Yer man shuts his eyes focusing hard and who pop's through the sheet but Dom and Slim, now that would give anyone the night terrors!
Speaking of the two boy's, soon the song's were coming thick and fast, a great night was had by all.
Up early Sunday, in fairness everyone was able and off we went to the airport.
A delayed flight meant a spot o' drinkin', and the boy's were more than up for that.
Back into Dublin then and facing a long trip home, it was decided to partake of liquid refreshment in Nenagh. Of course there was a bookies a few doors up the street and a nag by the name of St.Dominick running the next race? No brainer my son! Everyone chucked a few quid in and came out top trumps !
The bookies day was only getting worse, another bet and he was having a bad day as
Leon seperated from a few more sovs, happy days!
No better way to end the weekend than the customery finish in Moroneys, once again, a legendary trip! MOT

PS, Anyone fancy a cup o' tay?

The "We need to ask Bewleys to put underfloor heating in the bathrooms before I get a cold in my Kidneys" tour I prefer to call it ! A job for "Powdy" as yer man at the desk calls him :)
Great craic from start to finish lads. Apart from 3.00-4.57 on Saturday of course....thanks all !

The 'Got some corn for poppin'/ Nuggy's white sheet/St.Dominick's of Nenagh' tour.
Well byes, I hope ye're all on the mend! I found it seriously hard to rise out the bed at 6.20 this morn, pitch black and still knackered.I think the van drove itself, couldn't wait until 4.30, the day dragged..
On behalf of the travelling squad, I would like to thank the logistics team, Nugs, Kevin and Paudie, great stuff lads.
After a long day of travel the boy's soon got in the groove with a few starters in the hotel, then most had a chilly walk up town, the Ship being the meeting spot.
Most of the crew headed back,a few trying out a couple of new bar's. Marty and myself decided we'd had enough and grabbed a taxi. Back at the hotel I suggested a nightcap, taking a seat facing the entrance door, lo and behold, snowflakes as big as golf balls!
To be continued....

Welcome home guys, obviously a disaster of a game but what a way to end the trip with St Dominick winning for ye at impressive odds. Marian is going over to Loftus Road next weekend and this is already been seen as a six pointer as The R's are in dire straights like ourselves. Steve Evans is not the man for Leeds but sacking another manager is not the answer either. No end in sight to these dark days at Leeds for real supporters.
