Had a great time recently with Kevin G over at the forest match, great time , bad result. Was over for the opening game of the season v burnley , there was an air of optimism about the place, new season , new manager, heavy metal football and all that jazz,Fast forward on a cold damp day in early February , we watched two once fallen Giants, with one eye on next season already, and an despondent air of resignation that greeted the final whistle, was a pole apart from the early season optimism. A recognised striker was so badly needed on Saturday, badly missing Chris wood, I do agree even if it means short term pain, by not buying mediocrity to placate the fans in January, we did miss a trick though by not strengthening the squad in key areas, doukarara doing well, but does not lead the line. Many seasons now a similar pattern has emerged, game up by February, mid table by May , hope in August , panic at Christmas,, and so it goes on, one wonders if we do not break this cycle, Mr Evans will pay the price, And I for one thinks he is doing a good job all things considered. Centre half and forward a must. On a positive note, met ger Keneally , Jim Ryan , and the stag party gang , who took in a rhinos match on the Friday as well, still going strong at the peacock just before kick off, great endurance lads! Hope we sting the hornets in the cup!
